Cellular Happiness of the Xylem

“Cellular Happiness” is back from the framer. I love how it turned out. A little different for me: the imagery fills the entire picture frame, the size is larger than I normally work (16x20), and exploring some new visuals within the “cellular environment” I like to express. Also, this piece was not fueled by pain, sadness or trauma. It has a happy disposition.

This piece is from my Biophilia Series. The xylem is a specialized type of vascular tissue in plants that transports water and dissolved mineral nutrients upward from the roots to the stems and leaves. It also provides mechanical strength and structural support to help the plant stay upright.
